Background

Dirk ran away from home because his father was a dick, he doesn't know if he's dead or alive. He was fifteen and all alone in the world. With nothing but his wits, bravado 'charm'. Charm being him thinking he's a master manipulator but people really felt bad for him.

Dirk was going to an inn and tried to get a free meal, he found a motherly figure there who took him in as a waiter. That is where he made his first connections and realized that peoples needs equals Dirk's profits. He started taking a different kind of orders as a waiter, checking his contacts and having the clients pick up the goods the next day.
